Ways to Protect Yourself and others from Covid-19

Although NZ is currently at Alert Level 1 and we are all enjoying the freedom that most other countries are just dreaming of, there are…

still risks that Covid-19 can return to the community. It is important that we all unite and help each other stop or slow the spread of the virus, thus we protect ourselves, our love ones, and our community.

Here are few steps that you can do:

Stay at home if you are sick

If you are feeling unwell, isolate yourself wherever you are and call Health line to inquire about the freeCovid-19 test. By getting the test, you are helping to keep yourself and your community safe.

Keep track of your movements

The NZ COVID-19 Tracer App keep us one step ahead of the virus. By using this app, you can help our health services reach people quickly who might be exposed to a possible carrier thus stopping the spread of the virus.

Wear a face covering/ mask

Wearing a face covering or mask whenever you are in public transport or flights can help keep your community safe. It is a way of showing care for each other.

Practice Good Hygiene

Washing your hands with soap and water at all times will help kill the virus. Cough or sneeze on your elbow to avoid spreading the virus through the air and wipe surfaces regularly where it is frequently touched with cleaning products or anti-bacterial cloths.

Maintain Physical Distancing

Although we are on Alert Level 1, it is always good not to get complacent. Keeping our distance from people when we are out and about will minimize the spread of the virus if Community transmission return.

Please keep safe.
